Why This Project Is Wrong for Our Community

  • Environmental Risk: The Blue Heron Bridge reef is internationally recognized for rare marine life. Increased boat traffic, docks, and shading from tall buildings will harm this fragile ecosystem.

  • Neighborhood Impact: Single-family and small multi-family homes nearby will be shaded most afternoons, losing sunlight in their backyards and living spaces.

  • Phil Foster Park: A beloved swimming, fishing, snorkeling, and diving area used daily by Riviera Beach residents. A massive tower next door will detract from its use and enjoyment.

  • Local Economy: Divers and visitors support local hotels, dive shops, and tourism. Overdevelopment threatens jobs, small businesses, and tax revenue.

  • Traffic & Safety: AIA is one lane each way — already congested. Evacuations during hurricanes would be even more dangerous with added density.

  • Infrastructure Strain: Singer Island relies on one aging sewer line and shared emergency services. Multiple towers will overwhelm capacity.

  • Precedent for More Towers: Approving one 25-story building opens the door for more high-rises across Singer Island.

  • Not Blighted: These lots sold for millions of dollars — they do not qualify as “blighted” under C.R.A. rules.
